Although we are now very close
to the end of the season, we still don't know the identity of any of the teams to be relegated or promoted from any division.
In Division 1,
losses for Aberporth and Llandysul have edged them closer to the drop but they could both still avoid it at the expense of Ffostrasol. Only one of those three teams will stay up though.
In Division 2, Llanybydder's loss to St Dogmaels has seen their push for the title severely dented. Pencader now only need three points from five games to guarantee top spot but with their huge goal difference advantage, just two points would probably be enough. Llanybydder, Aberaeron Res, Bargod and Felinfach are all still in the hunt for second place. SDUC could also mathematically make second place but with so many games left in their season, this sems unlikely.
At the other end of the table, Maesglas seem set for the drop to the lower tier to be joined by St Dogmaels, New Quay or Cardigan Res.
With a reserves side in the Reserves Cup already, SDUC can't be relegated
In the reserves Cup, Ffostrasol are guaranteed to finish bottom. At the top of the division, Llanybydder and Lampeter are guaranteed a place in the end of season play-offs. They will be joined by two from Crannog, Llanboidy or Pencader.
Following cup games, the draws for the semi finals of the Bay Cup and South Cards Cup are a little clearer and are as follows:-

Felinfach v Cardigan Res
Lampeter Res/Bargod v Pencader

'It is sad to note that for the first time since 1992 there will no longer be a Saturday afternoon sports programme broadcast on Radio Ceredigion. As you will be aware the programme provided excellent coverage of the Costcutter Ceredigion League with commentaries, match reports and a full results service.
This is as a result of Radio Ceredigion been sold to a new company, Town and Country Broadcasting which means that all programmes will be broadcast from Narberth rather than Aberystwyth.
On its website www.radioceredigion.co.uk the company invites listeners to completed a questionnaire regarding the type of programme they would wish to hear in future on Radio Ceredigion.
We ask that you spend a few minutes completing this questionnaire particularly the box towards the end which asks 'If there there's anything else you'd like us to bear in mind as we build the NEW Radio Ceredigion please let us know here'.
Please insert in the box that you want to hear a Saturday afternoon sports programme.' |
